Gary Beard has authored and supported legislation that promotes good government in our state and provides for the strengthening and reform of our ethics laws:

Authored legislation on campaign finance reform which prevents elected officials from receiving campaign contributions from certain groups entering into government contracts.

Authored legislation requiring that local and state government agencies get appraisals prior to the purchase of immovable property.

Authored the Constitutional Amendment requiring the election of state-wide offices by the people rather than the appointment of vacated offices by the governor.

Supported legislation in 2006 for state-wide ethics reform.
